Olympic High School, in partnership with families and the community, helps all students become skillful, confident and contributing members of society. Together we create learning environments characterized by rigor, relevance, respect and support. All Olympia buildings are climate controlled, much of which is accomplished through geothermal.

Olympia School District has partnered with the Guaranteed Admissions Program and two private universities which provide increased opportunities to attend college. For the GAP program, juniors will receive information, and seniors who qualify will receive guaranteed admission letters for up to seven Washington state colleges and universities. In order for colleges to send acceptance letters, students must give permission to release student information for the purpose of higher education through Skyward Family Access. I grew up in the district, graduated from OHS, and currently reside and work in the Olympia West community. I can't imagine a better place to raise my family and work as a teacher.

We have fell into the two highest categories each of the last 15 years (Financial Recognition/Review). The energy here is entirely positive and it’s very clear the direction we want to steer our programs here—to the benefit of our students.
All schools also employ the use of solar panels, which has created tremendous savings for the district with energy costs. Our administration has a commitment to a thriving IT department that supports staff and students both instructionally and logistically. Generally, the holiday dates announced at the state level don’t change very often. However, we encourage you to check back regularly for any amendments that may occur, and to consult the Hesse state education website. Photos will not be accepted after this date and the picture used will be the student’s school picture taken by Olympic Photo Group at the Kitsap Mall or last year’s photo if not turned in.

Winter Break is from Monday, December 19, 2022 through Monday, January 2, 2023. School and administrative offices also reopen on January 3. The Knox 111 Administrative Center offices will be closed to the public throughout Winter Break. Any deliveries should be made at the lower level of the Knox building, 111 Bethel St. N.E., Olympia on business days (December 19-21, and December 27-29). Please plan ahead and contact staff before the closures if you need assistance.

The kids are great, the parents are supportive, and my coworkers are like a family to me. There is such a strong sense of community and caring here in Olympia. The people really do care about each other and our students. It is a pleasure to have served this district as a student, teacher, parent, and administrator. Students are named Illinois State Scholars for exemplary SAT scores and outstanding high school grade point averages.
This district goes above and beyond to provide the best learning environment for our students. One of Olympia’s goals is to design and cultivate a quality experience for students and this starts with building the capacity of staff. Our administration values and provides opportunities for staff development which is at the core of this goal. SchoolMessenger is a notification service used by the nation's leading school systems to connect with parents, students and staff through voice, SMS text, email, and social media. Every year, inevitably, snow or severe weather conditions lead to a delay in start times or the closure of our school buildings. Friends, family and the public are invited to attend our Olympia School District 2022 holiday concerts.
The Olympia School Board unanimously agreed to appoint Talauna Reed to fill the District 2 board director position vacated by Justin McKaughan, who resigned effective August 31, 2022. Reed participated in her first board meeting after being sworn into office at the October 27, 2022 Olympia School Board meeting.
